Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spiky blonde hair and a pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English degree and a Communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every moment." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, chef Burrell went on to spend one period of time in Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy the chef gained an appreciation and appreciation for Italian food. This had an enormous effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children who are facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she is an advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion and shares her experiences in the food world as she frequently is in the United States for the roles of speakers and mentors. Anne said she felt lucky that I could be able to share her passion for cooking with the people around her.
