Emily Irene VanCamp, who was originally a professional dancer, grew fascinated by acting after visiting her sister Katie at the Ladies Room set. She started taking acting classes. She also got roles as a guest on a TV show from her home country of Canada. Some of the shows she had starred in among other ones included: Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp experienced career breakthrough when he was cast as the main character Sam Dolan on the WB horror mystery show Glory Days. The series was canceled after 9 episodes and despite receiving favorable ratings. Actually, she was quick to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. The role earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award and four Teen Choice Awards.
